1️⃣ Interact with Microsoft Foundry

Welcome to the first level of the Open Hack! 🎉
This is where you lay the foundation for everything that comes next.

In this level, you’ll set up your development environment, create an Microsoft Foundry resource, and deploy your very first model.
This step is all about making sure your tools and environment are ready to go, and that you can talk to a deployed model using the Microsoft Foundry playground.

Think of it as booting up the engine before you start driving — once this is working, you’ll be ready to build your first agent in the next level. 🚀

📋 Tasks

  • Have your dev enviroment up and running.
  • Create an Microsoft Foundry resource for your project.
  • Deploy a GPT-4o model for your project.
  • Launch the playground for your deployed model.

✅ Pass Criteria and Requirements

  • You can interact with your deployed model in the playground.

text
Hello do you like pizza?

The first thing you will do in Microsoft Foundry is create a Project resource. Give your Microsoft Foundry project a unique name — something like myname-openhack-pizza will work.

The Microsoft Foundry Agent can answer your questions about how to achieve tasks. Click the Microsoft Foundry Agent icon in the header bar to open the Microsoft Foundry Agent.

An easy way to deploy a model is to find it in the model catalog, and then click the "Use this model" button.
